May Omens

I'm not going to go looking tonight, I'm going to take today's big event as a sign itself.

A friend of mine stole the show on stage at a club in down town Pensacola tonight.

Here's to hoping the month of may gets me that much applause.

    As to your actual content...

    Romans 10:9-10
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

No qualifiers. That's a complete statement. The rest is all bullshit even within the context of the Bible, which is at best a spurious source.

Furthermore, if you actually understand it, The Bible explicitly states that it applies only to the direct descendants of Adam and Eve, which I'm not, so there's not much point in talking to me about it.

  2. I'd like to point out here that a couple of things on the list, namely 'faith and belief', without good evidence, are first of all basically selecting for people in a religion who are sufficiently lacking in integrity to be able to believe things without evidence, and secondly, are excluding from birth a whole class of people (those with Aspbergers) who simply flat out aren't able to feel religion in an emotional way the way other people can. I'd like to see the religious handwaving on this issue, about how having Aspbergers must therefore be a 'choice', but it's going to be some pretty fancy handwaving, since it isn't mentioned in the bible the way the latest Christian hate object (homosexuals) are.

Oh, and btw, Steve, repeatedly telling children with Aspbergers that their salvation is dependent on 'faith' and 'belief' that they are unable to feel for neurological reasons convinces them that God hates them and they are going to hell. I wonder if you have any idea (or even care) what effect that has on the self esteem of a 6 year old.
